Lodi is a small town in the San Joaquin County located south of Sacramento, California. Every year around September they have their Grape Festival. The Grape Festival lasts for around 4-5 days. Lodi is famous for its locally grown and produced wine and the festival celebrates its uniqueness and contribution to the wine industry.
I enjoy their festival since it is great for bringing kiddos to and a wonderful time to enjoy carnival food and rides without the huge lines! The nice thing is it isn’t as busy as other festivals within the California area.
If you come to the festival on a Friday between 2pm-6pm it is free admission. Sundays are usually Family day and a great time to come with your loved ones. If you bring canned foods to the entrance, they will give you a discount on your admission. Be sure to watch the Lodi Grape Festival News Page for updates on upcoming events.
Here are my top favorite activities for kids at the Lodi Grape Festival. I took my little cousin, and she had a blast!
Animal Petting/ Feeding Zoo
For under $5.00 you can get a cup of animal food and go into the pen and feed the small farm animals. This is always a local favorite and the kids love it!

Pony Ride
I can not remember the exact cost of the Pony Ride I believe it was less than $10.00. The people working the Pony Ride are usually really good with kids which is great because there are usually a few little ones a bit scared of the ride.

Carnival Rides
The Grape Festival does have a section of the fair which is just for carnival rides. They have a smaller section for children rides and a bigger one for teens and young adults. Tickets or wrist bands for rides will cost you extra. You have to go to the booth at the Carnival stations and buy those separately.
Carnival Food
I’m always really impressed by the selection of foods they offer at the Grape Festival. They have a large variety and you can find honestly whatever you’re craving there. My little cousin wanted cotton candy and numerous food stations were selling it.
