In order to shoot a flat lay, you need to angle all your photos from a directly above your subject. This can be a bit tricky especially when holding the camera yourself, I recommend using a ladder to give you a little more distance, you can always crop in the image if needed.
• EDITING
A good flat lay will still requires some editing, so play around with it and find the perfect filter for your flat lay.
• GET INSPIRED
Do your research check out other flat lays online to help spark some inspo and help you perfect your flat lay.
• KEEP IT SIMPLE
Simplicity is the best. Pick simple backgrounds for your flat lay. White-colored backgrounds usually look the best but there are so many other options out there to try!

Lighting can make or break any photo. Making sure you have good lighting is key to achieving that insta worthy flat lay we all envy. Use good natural lighting or install some professional lighting in your room.

A lot of thought goes into perfecting of flat lay. There needs to be a clear theme and color scheme to make sure everything works together.
